About Me: After graduating high school in Northern California I moved to Hawaii to attend the University of Hawaii- Manoa. While going to school, I was also on the cross-country and track team for UH. Shortly after graduating from UH my husband and I decided to teach overseas. We spent 2 years teaching in Bahrain in the Middle East and then 1 year in Suriname in South America. These past 3 years living overseas have giving us the opportunity to see the world and experience different cultures. We traveled to 23 different countries and in each country we learned something new.
I believe teaching is a profession that requires commitment, patience, and PASSION! I believe all students have the ability to learn and I expect all students to learn from their own individual expectations. In my classroom respect and kindness is maintained for each other at all times. I encourage curiosity, and for the students to ask questions. I believe in fostering independent learning, and to teach students to take responsibility of their own learning and be critical thinkers. I am looking forward to this school year and excited to be apart of Star of the Sea School.
