A shout out to Mrs. Rocheleau, our school librarian and her team of teacher, parent, and grandparent volunteers who helped out with this year’s book fair! Excitement was in the air and students were eager to shop for books, participate in games, or simply browse around.
One question that popped up: “Does the school make money off of the book fair?” The answer is, Yes! Scholastic takes a portion of the profits. However the remaining profits, along with the money spent on games or change donations, goes directly to our school library. Teacher books, books for the classrooms and the library, furniture (such as book displays or bookshelves) are some of the ways that profits from the book fairs have been spent in the past.
