Mrs. Peters

Mrs. Destaney Peters is a graduate of Northern Arizona University and earned her Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a K–12 concentration in School Counseling from Liberty University. She has had the privilege of teaching students across multiple grade levels throughout her career, including spending a semester teaching in China. While she has enjoyed working with learners of all ages, her greatest passion is second grade, where she loves fostering curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Mrs. Peters believes every child has unique gifts and thrives when they feel safe, valued, and encouraged. She is passionate about creating a classroom where academic excellence is paired with kindness, perseverance, creativity, and character. Her background in school counseling helps her support the whole child, encouraging students to grow not only as learners but also as compassionate, resilient individuals.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Peters enjoys making memories with her husband and their three children. Whether they’re hiking scenic trails, exploring new places, playing games, or cheering one another on, she treasures time spent together as a family. She also enjoys distance running and has a passion for marathon training, believing that determination, goal-setting, and perseverance are valuable lessons both on the race course and in the classroom.

Mrs. Peters considers it a privilege to partner with families and looks forward to helping each student learn, grow, and have a wonderful year filled with discovery, confidence, and joy.
